"It's disappointing that outsiders can bless us but not my own son. This heartless child is sabotaging our happiness," the "groom", who calls himself Da Bao (Big Treasure), wrote on Weibo. The retired history teacher explained that the man was his son from the first marriage to a woman.
On 30th January, Da Bao tied the knot with his lover Xiao Bao at an unofficial ceremony attended by several friends.
Same-sex marriage is not recognised in China.
The couple, tweeted the ceremony and posted wedding pictures and videos on Weibo. "There is nothing wrong with two elderly people falling in love," they wrote. "If even two old men are brave enough to love, what are you young people waiting for?"
According to the media, Xiao Bao–a bottled water deliveryman, used to send drinking water to Da Bao and they eventually fell in love.
